Final day in Yangshou

Assembly Dragon cave

Today we started the day biking to the Assembly Dragon cave (I think they meant it was a cave where dragons gather or assemble).

It was only about a thirty minute bike ride but we were already hot and were looking foward to being in the cool cave.
The cave was very well presented. They lit the main chambers with colored lights and they had actual walkways instead of just the cave floor.

There weren't many people in this cave so we were able to take our time. It is quite a large cave and probably took us about an hour to walk through. Of course, when we were done they funneled us into the gift shop area so we had to run the gauntlet to get out. We didn't get out unscathed though because we ended up buying some hot pepper sauce, some snacks, and chinese herbs.

After all this exertion, it was time for lunch. We ate at the same outdoor restaurant from yesterday because it was so good.

We took our time with lunch and relaxed a bit before getting in a small van and heading towards another cave.
This cave was really big and took us about an hour and a half to go through. It wasn't as nice as the first cave of the day and a bit more crowded. There were still some very impressive formations though.

It was getting really hot after we got out of the cave, so we sat in the shade while munching on some sugarcane and then headed back to the hotel.
Now we're resting up for our final meal in Yangshou :-) Next stop, back to Hong Kong for a couple of days.
