Wrap-up - Home Sweet Home

Well, we left Vancouver around 11:30 and made it to the border around 12:15. The traffic signs said it would be about a 90 minute wait to make the border crossing which was cutting it tight for us to make our flight. It still gave us enough time so we weren't too worried.

After sitting in the line for an hour and a half, we realized that we were barely half-way thru the line. After two hours, we knew we weren't going to make our flight so I called the airlines up and asked them what the next flight out was.

By the time we crossed the border, it had been three hours (!). We drove down to Greg and Jane's house to pick up the rest of our stuff and re-pack some of our luggage. We rushed down to the airport and were cutting it close for the next flight too.

We went back and forth to a couple of check-in counters and finally found an empty counter with a really nice agent (go Alaska Airlines!). He checked us in, got all our luggage sorted and we were on our way in record time. We made the flight with a few minutes to spare and even got an exit row to ourselves :-) The flight was uneventful and we rolled up to our home around 11p, 11 days and about 2100 miles later (not including the flight home).
