Day 7 - Seattle tour

Today we did some of the usual tourist stops in Seattle. The first thing we did was to go up the Space Needle. It was pretty cool up there (605') and we could see most of the city. The only thing we couldn't see were the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges b/c it was a little cloudy.

The next stop on the tour was the famous Pike's Place Market. That was fun because we got to eat a lot of free samples :-D We also had to make the obligatory stop at the original Starbucks.

Afterwards, despite the free sample food, we were starving. We met up with one of Greg's friends and he took us to a small hole in the wall restaurant for some chili. Apparently, this place was on a Food Network show. We're not sure if it was on the show as a recommend or an a avoid but it was some good stuff.

The food was pretty inexpensive and the abuse was free (see menu below)!

We checked out this sculpture of a troll under a bridge in Freemont.

Then we headed up to Queen Anne to check out "the best view in Seattle" and made a run to the original REI store which was HUGE.
We were hungry again and we went to Whole Paycheck and got some coho salmon and mahi-mahi and had a awesome home-grilled dinner.
It's now Thursday a.m. and we're off to go kayaking and get chased by killer whales. Hopefully, I won't lose my camera this time!

I think I recall that show being on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and it was definitely a recommendation.
