Day 3 - The (too) scenic route

After eating lunch at Half Moon Bay, we checked out Mavericks, but it wasn’t breaking.

(Here's where we ate)
So we continued our journey north. After crossing the Golden Gate, the drive finally got interesting. It was pretty slow-going because we stopped to take a few scenic pictures and the road was really winding. We probably averaged about 20mph for much of the way. A lot of the stops were just to check out the surf which was probably at least 15-20’ on the faces but stormy. The pictures don’t do them justice.
After about 4 hours of driving we realized that we probably wouldn’t make our original destination – Sinkyone State Park. We checked the map and found Manchester State Park, which was only another hour and a half away.
When we reached Manchester S.P it was already 6:30p and getting dark. We set up camp quickly, ate some dinner and were asleep by 9. It was pretty chilly during the night though – around mid-50’s.
