After the ant fiasco, we finally made it to Jalama. It's beautiful here but the campsite isn't really what I thought it would be like. So many RV's! At least there are nice restrooms.
We got a decent campsite and took a walk down the beach around sunset. We walked down to Tarantula's (surf break) but it was too blown out.

Walked a little past around the point and were overwhelmed by the stench of sewage. Turns out there are a lot of natural sulfur springs around the area.
By the time we walked back it was getting dark and a little chilly. We made freeze-dried jamaican jerk chickrn (yummy!) and one hard-boiled each.
We set up the tent and went to sleep around 10:30. Around 2 or 3am it felt like we were in a hurricane. The wind really picked up and was buffeting the tent non-stop. Needless to say, we didn't sleep much after that. We tossed and turned till about 6 and I got up to go surf. The wind died and it was actually pretty nice out. It was about head-high+ on the sets. I didn't surf Tarantula's b/c I didn't have the time. I sured a few hundred yds south of the campgrounds for about an hour, while Am took lots of pics.

We rolled out of jalama around 10 and we're at a Starbucks getting some coffee :) more to come later!
