Today we took the train into Taipei city with Bernard's parents to do a little shopping and have lunch. We met up with Bridget (sans Harold, as he was not feeling well and Mireille because she was at school) for a really nice - really BIG - lunch. We decided since it was our last day we would go all out, and we did.
We ate and chatted for a couple hours and then headed back out for some more shopping... out into torrential downpours. Bernard's mom went immediately home while Bernard's dad stayed back and shopped with us. We struck out on some of the items we were looking for - and by the time we got back to the flat we were absolutely and completely DRENCHED. We should have taken a picture, it was ridiculous.
After drying off, we packed up our bags and got everything ready to leave around 9pm. We met up with everyone at Bernard's parents' flat across the way and enjoyed our last night with a dinner of wontons and potstickers and some family time.
The taxi picked us up at 9:30 and we said our goodbyes. It was time to head home.
