July 28 - We were supposed to get up very early to do a game drive and
drive to the Tanzania/Kenya border to meet our new guide.
However, we realized that we would just be
driving through the same area we saw yesterday so we told the guide we could
leave a little later and not stop along the way.
We reached the border around 10:30 in the morning and waded
through the chaos that passes for Tanzanian immigrations control. After a little back and forth and $100 each
for a visa we were through.

We met “Mr. Bush-baby” our Tanzanian guide and he picked us
up in a nice Toyota Land Cruiser.
Today's destination was Lake Eyasi and along the way we stopped along
the side of the road and took some pictures with some Maasai who were
celebrating their entrance to manhood having been circumcised the week before.

We were both a little cranky from all the driving we had
been enduring and the seemingly illogical logistics (some backtracking and
duplicate routes) and Lake Eyasi was also going to be another 3 hour in-and-out
drive down a rough and dusty road.
What
made it worse was the fact that the only activity that was waiting for us was a
morning tour with the bushmen the next day.
Luckily, the Kisima Ngeda Permanent Tented Camp was a really
nice area and we were able to relax for the night.
