Going to Africa!

July 23 - After a couple of delayed flights from LAX and Amsterdam, I finally arrived in Nairobi around 8:30pm. Passing through immigrations and customs and paying a $50 visa fee I was officially in Africa!

20 hours of flying later...

A driver from the tour operator met me outside of customs and drove me to the hotel, Nairobi Safari Club, where I would spend the night before starting the safari. My mother had arrived earlier in the day and was waiting at the hotel when I checked in. We chatted and caught up for a bit but were both tired from the travels and went to sleep pretty quickly.
